[After his communication with the man named Sakamoto, Yarne can’t help but wonder if he’s made the right choice. Taking some of the edge off sounds like an amazing idea; the shift from time of war to time of being kidnaped to space for sex is a jarring one, after all. He can’t think of anyone who would adjust that easily. He can already hear Laurent nagging at him as he goes about his business through the rest of the day. Drinking isn’t for children, it’s for the adults!
But, hey, he’s eighteen, too. And if fighting for your life every single day doesn’t count him as an adult, then what does? So after waffling back and forth on whether it’s been a good idea or not, he eventually decided to throw caution to the wind. If it doesn’t kill him and it relaxes him, then it might be worth it.
Might be. The smell of sake is really, really overpowering. And the crowded bar is...a little more uncouth than he’d thought it’d be, filled with lively individuals that remind him of his time with the Stonewall Knights. There’s a bottle, there are two cups, and his ears are as flat against his head as they can be to prevent too much excess noise from seeping in.]
So...this is sake, huh? I’ve, er, never had this kind before. It smells pretty strong, huh?
[He’s not ungrateful...but it smells sort of like it might be dangerous.]

[The night’s gone on far longer than he thought it would. Eight o’clock isn’t a bad time to head out. Going out to dinner should only take an hour or two, he thinks, so going to a bar should take even less time. But by the time they’re at their third bar and he’s already tried three different types of alcohol, he’s realizing his estimate had been very, very generous.]
What...hey—!
[Yarne twirls in his stool, looking away from Sakamoto and facing towards the back of the bar. As someone passed by, they knocked over the bottle Yarne had spent his money on, spilling some of it on his pants before he’d had time catch it and put it upright. Now he’s going to smell like beer, too. He grimaces at the man who’d been so careless, but in the end he can’t muster up enough energy to care. He turns back, grabs Sakamoto’s arm, and starts to shake him way more than a sober person ever would.]
You...do you even know what time it is anymore? Or does it not matter since there’s no sun anyways. [He sighs along with his words.] I need to find new pants.
